To bring together every single person around the world who uses Polkadot as part of their community of Web3 natives, we needed to do something bigger and better for their annual conference.
So in the style and spirit of decentralised communities, we empowered its own ecosystem to create, enjoy, and share their dream programme. For the first time ever, we introduced an in-person component to the event, and laid the foundations for a genuinely memorable experience.
This meant carving out the best way forward in terms of creative ideation, format strategy, even down to the content itself.
Polkadot Decoded turned out to be the biggest global ecosystem experience of the year. We received over 80,000 votes and 1,000 submissions to our community call (that's considerably more than SXSW!).
Over two days we pulled off four sold-out roadblock events in four different cities, from Berlin to Buenos Aires, featuring 150 talks live-streamed through a dedicated platform and on social media.
A whopping 73.5K people joined live either physically or virtually, with 300K more joining in on Twitter and 27 additional side events, watch parties and meetups happening around the world. Plus, NFTs for all attendees.
