When it comes to live music experiences, technology can often get in the way of ‘the moment’. This was front of mind while we were working on The Specials’ London homecoming gig (in partnership with Fred Perry), and Emile Sande’s live album launch “Long Live the Angels”.
How could we elevate each of these performances beyond the expected experience without intruding? And how could we deliver something that was truly new and exciting in a context that’s constantly presenting new ways to entertain?
For Emile’s album launch and Q&A, broadcast live from the intimacy of her own home, this meant an agile but altogether more recessive use of tech. We took care of a multi-channel broadcast via satellite link, to make sure the feed was reliably high quality and Emile’s performance had plenty of room to breathe.
The Specials’ homecoming celebration gave its audience a whole new angle – or angles, more accurately. Broadcast live from The Troxy to the world in glorious 360° footage, this content provided a worthy execution for a cherished creative force and racked up over 500K views and 12K likes.
