The biggest name in crypto was gearing up for its biggest moment – and needed a safe pair of hands to help them make history.
Going public is a big moment for any company. Going public when you’re the biggest crypto exchange around? That’s a huge one. Coinbase enlisted us to handle their content and messaging distribution in the lead up to the big day.
This meant on-location recordings, platform-specific editing, setting up execs with remote kits for media interviews…not to mention a certain sensitivity for what was a delicate PR moment. We’d have to be nimble, but being such a milestone, the overall quality of all these moving parts had to be worthy of a direct public offering.
With a miniscule turnaround time of just two days before the first messaging was due to go live, we’d spec’d up, distributed and tested the remote kits with our contributors. From there we were ready to broadcast across the various channels we needed to cover – mainstream media, a Reddit AMA and YouTube.
On top of that we captured a shoot with some notable Coinbase alumni that painted a picture of the company’s humble beginnings. The effort paid off, with 100K+ views of our listing day stream and a smooth start to $COIN’s first day on the market.
